The great gatsby font style3/28/2024 I think there was a level of compromise with some aspects of the letter spacing in this typeface, but overall I think it still works well on the page, and more importantly, is still readable. Once I put ‘Great Gatsby’ in Cinzel Decorative, my heading font, I knew it was what I wanted-the swooping lines in the serifs of this typeface seemed ideal to carry the name of such a larger–than–life character, whilst still being in keeping with the style of that era. FontsĪs soon as I decided on the passage, I knew I wanted typefaces that would suit the Art Deco style of the period, and perhaps something old-fashioned, even, to reflect the character’s obsession with recreating the past. A number of Fitzgerald’s most iconic imagery and lines appear in the final page of the novel, so I figured I would have fun trying to recreate its mood in this piece. My original opinions aside, so many of the book’s scenes and lines have since remained stuck in my head. When I first read ‘The Great Gatsby’ back in high school, I was less than impressed with a novel that was about horrible people doing horrible things to each other.
